Our Story

Looking to make some extra cash, Eric offered his accompaniment services to Sarah’s new vocal studio. The two were paired up and the rest is history

The new couple collaborated musically throughout their time at Michigan, both assigned work and passion projects. They found that they both have a love for bringing life to Musical Theater and Vocal Jazz pieces.

Following Sarah’s graduation in 2021, they began their long-distance relationship while Sarah moved to New York City and Eric finished his degree. Through cruise ship contracts, senior recitals and life’s highs and lows, they maintained a supportive and loving partnership.

Eric graduated in the spring of 2022 and five days later, joined the National Tour of Disney’s The Lion King as the Keyboard 1 player. This was a unique opportunity for the couple to travel the US and beyond, and explore other creative projects during the day. In a hotel room in Ottawa, Ontario they decided to begin pursuing a professional musical collaboration.

They officially became “The Banitts” in October 2025. Eric and Sarah are currently traveling with The Lion King tour but are actively planting roots in New York City. Sarah also continues to pursue a Musical Theater career.

Together, they perform original arrangements that bring a fresh perspective to beloved classics. Their musical selections prioritize musical storytelling through Sarah’s powerful soprano voice and Eric’s impassioned playing.
